El pleno de la Cámara de Diputados aprobó las modificaciones a la Ley de Propiedad Industrial que establecen que los productos lácteos que no son leche deberán dejar de utilizar dicho nombre.
La aprobación representa un paso importante para que los productores de leche del país compitan en mejores circunstancias, demanda que ha sido impulsada durante los últimos años por los propios productores, a través de la Federación Mexicana de Lechería (Femeleche).
El organismo ha organizado y participado durante el año en diversos foros y reuniones junto con el Poder Legislativo, planteando que uno de los pilares básicos para lograr la autosuficiencia lechera implica un ordenamiento del mercado que permitiría a los pequeños y medianos productores competir en una situación de igualdad.
